This break is situated in the town of Lancelin, which is north of Perth, in Western Australia.

Type of Wave:

Back Beach is a beach break with excellent lefts and rights... depending on the banks

Access and Setup:

Conventional.

Lancelin Road becomes Walker Avenue.
Turn left into Casserley Way and left again into Fisher.
Fisher leads to a big car park with a shower block and toilets.

Follow the path at the shower block over the dunes.
There is usually a good fixed rip in front of the path, with banks to the left and right of it.
It's a long stretch of sand, with plenty of banks to choose from.

Don't bug the locals!

Best months of the year:

Lancelin gets a lot more swell than Perth because it juts out more into the ocean, and does not have reefs blocking the swell. So this is a great spot for summer.

Best swell directions:

Souht West over 1.5m

Wind Direction:

Best in a North Easterly ... but get there early, the onshore howls after about 11.00am

Tide:

Any... better on low

Where to find good food:

The petrol station in Lancelin makes really good sandwiches.
Take lots of water with you..it gets really hot in summer.
