Cables is the first artificial reef to be built in the Perth metropolitan area.

It's easily accessible, with a Large carpark above the location.

The fourth marker from the top of the map/ sattelite pic, shows the position of the wave.

Type of wave:

Artificial Reef .... Rights and lefts.   Swell must be 3m+at Rottnest Island for this place to get good

Access and Setup:

Conventional Access...you're in town!
Nice big carpark above the beach. The break itself is about 250m out, but on a big swell there are some worthwhile waves on the inside, near the beach.
Because of Rottnest Island  and the outer reefs off the Perth Coastline, very little swell reaches this area - it's blocked by the outer reefs.

Best months of the year:

Winter.

Best swell directions:

North West or South west  ..Rottnest swell reading must be over 2.5m before it  will break.

Wind Direction:

Easterly/ No wind

Tide:

Low to mid

Where to find good food:

Let us know about good food for Surfers!

There are plenty of good cafes and Restuarants at Cottesloe and in Mosman Park, a few kms away.
