Muscular Strength

When we talk about muscular strength, we are referring to the ability of a muscle to exert a force on an object.

It follows then, that the more force we can exert on an object, the stronger we are.

Because F=ma (Force =Mass x Acceleration).....

In terms of the lifting, pushing, pulling movement patterns we associate with our training programs, it would mean that we are stronger than the next person if we can push, pull or lift a heavier object than that person ..ie we are capable of generating a greater force through our muscles.

Wikipedia explains it here quite differently - which is cause for concern, and confusion!
