The Transkei Coast or the Wild Coast of South Africa as it's also known - is exactly that - rural, wild coastline.

The surf is awesome, yet with a justifiable reputation for being sharky. There have been numerous fatalities at the excellent point breaks in this area.
Many of the great breaks are several hours drive (dirt roads) from the nearest emergency care.

Mdumbe and Ntlonyane are just two great breaks amongst many that are worth a mention.
